Development in Creative Arts

Working in partnership to preserve cultural heritage and learning through the creative arts.

Established in 2003, The Word Garden, a not-for-profit community group, has a successful track record of cross-disciplinary project initiation, development and implementation, supported by  grants from local and national funding bodies, local and parish councils and private sponsors.

The Word Garden works in partnership to inspire and advance the inclusion of the public, including children, in the exploration and preservation of cultural heritage, and to passing on new learning.

Taking part in Word Garden creative arts activities which include: new writing, drama and performance, oral and visual art forms, research, recollection, recording personal, social and cultural change, will enhance skills and knowledge, preserve vital community legacy, help make new connections whilst building confidence in new skills gained.

For those attending workshops as a new comer, a volunteer, an amateur, or a professional, participants from differing socio-cultural backgrounds, at differing stages in life, with differing levels of learning, we aim to provide a safe space in which to enjoy a creative, productive experience, and learn along the way.
